Location: Richmond, BC or Sandy, UT (Hybrid work model)

Job Summary: We are seeking a seasoned Large Projects Manager with expertise in guiding complex projects through all project phases, from initiation through overseeing construction and commissioning. This role requires a professional who sees the bigger picture, embraces inquisitiveness, comfortably navigates ambiguity, and thrives on urgency and execution.

Key Qualifications:

1. Education:

  • Technical or business degree required
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is mandatory

2. Experience:

  • Proven track record managing all phases of capital projects with a cost of $50M+, ideally for at least 10 year
  • Project experience in industrial capital projects, ideally in material processing and handling

3. Language Skills:

  • English fluency is required; proficiency in Spanish is considered an asset

4. Decision-Making and Analytical Skills

  • Proven decision-making skills based on extensive experience, critical analysis, and sound judgment

5. Leadership, Responsibility and Initiative:

  • Demonstrated sense of urgency to drive projects forward
  • High level of self-drive and initiative, comfortable working independently with minimal direction

6. Adaptability and Ambiguity Management:

* Proven ability to thrive in ambiguity and make informed decisions

* Comfortable navigating uncertain and changing variables in a project environment

7. Organizational and Planning Skills:

* Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to select, direct, and allocate internal and external resources as required

8. Networking and Communication:

* Comfortable building internal and external networks

* Ability to reach up and down through the organization to gather input and advice

* Encourages the expression of viewpoints and perspectives from all team members

9. Travel:

* Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally when required

10. Roles and Objectives:

* The Large Project Manager will be responsible for the following key roles and objectives:

11. Project Concept Development and Initiation:

* Define and initiate projects, conduct market and competitiveness assessments, geology assessments, permitting strategies, and preliminary cost estimates

* Develop a preliminary business case to assess project viability

12. Project Planning:

* Take responsibility for technology selection and engineering processes sufficient for permit preparation

* Lead teams to conduct stakeholder analysis and consultation, obtain necessary permits and approvals, develop detailed construction plans and schedules, develop operating plans etc.

* Present business case and capital proposal for project approval

13. Project Execution:

  • Oversee construction, commissioning, and handover
  • Ensure successful project delivery in alignment with no safety incidents and with established timelines, budgets, and quality standards
