Your role and responsibilities

Responsible for all the activities related to the Fort Smith, AR Die Casting Plant
Proactively plan and deliver needed capacity and supporting capital plan to support rotor and diecasting for the NEMA division
Owner of gross margin and net working capital for the plant
Provide leadership for implementation of the manufacturing strategy, customer focused initiatives and daily operations for a plant responsible for assigned manufacturing and assembly operations
Responsible for the results and trend of the plant regarding Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) aspects as well as compliance
Achieve high customer service levels by meeting delivery and quality Parts Per Million (PPM) targets
Develop and recommend the annual operating plan and capital budgets for the operation of the plant
Responsible to meet or exceed all financial targets (Margin, NWC, conversion, cost, inventory, headcount) by continuously improving the processes and implementing new programs in the facility
Lead the business team and corporate initiatives including lean manufacturing, HOS, continuous improvement, cost and inventory management and continued growth in change management for margin improvement
Assure SIOP (Sales, Inventory, Operations, Planning) for the plant
Manages the development of the team members through the Performance and Development Appraisal (PDA) process and identify appropriate development and trainings in accordance with Human Resources (HR) department
Responsible for maintaining positive employee relations and executing labor strategy for smooth operations in cost effective manner (example; excessive OT, labor movement between plants, etc.)
Liaising with customer teams for demand forecasting and other customer issues
Create a positive working environment. Actively maintain positive employee relations and high engagement

Qualifications for the role

  • Master's Degree with minimum 8 years experience directly related to operations in a manufacturing environment OR Bachelor's Degree with minimum 10 years experience directly related to operations in a manufacturing environment.
  • Significant previous experience in a Lean environment with Green or Black Belt Certification preferred
  • Excellent Health, Safety and Environment(HSE) management system
  • Good understanding of financial controls and budgetary responsibilities with experience of managing a large project or departmental budget
  • Excellent ability to lead change management initiatives including knowledge in progressive manufacturing techniques
  • Quality focused with attention to details follow the standard work
  • Minimal travel required (1015 percent)
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
