Within Sales, we're focused on achieving outperformance across all of our channels, operating in highly competitive categories. This focus results in a dynamic, fast paced environment where cross functional teams are encouraged to collaborate to achieve success.

We have around 10,000 sales people across the world, within market roles and ranging in areas like Field Sales, Key Accounts, Trade Marketing and Category Development.

About the role

As a Customer Category Manager Walmart Hygiene, you will assist in developing and executing category strategy at Walmart. You will be the "Voice of Choice" for Walmart by providing insights to drive superior category results, owning, and supporting category strategies across assigned categories, and furthering the teams' analytic capabilities through reporting and automation.

You will support mutual growth and deliver excellent business results. You will also be responsible for converting in-depth shopping and omni retail environment data into insights and category, retail and customer strategies and recommendations.

Your responsibilities
  • Build lasting business relationships based on trust and confidence.
  • Create recurring business reviews and customer facing category presentations by providing deep analysis on drivers using insights incorporating multiple data sources including custom research, market and industry trends, competitive review, with actionable recommendations.
  • Provide strategic guidance by identifying and evaluating category performance, assortment, and developing actionable recommendations.
  • Cultivate multiple internal and external relationships across the retailer and within Reckitt and work closely with internal teams to create category landscapes and narratives to support innovation and company strategies.
  • Supports the execution of product and placement strategic direction based on category strategy, best practices from Walmart/account teams.
  • Interface with Walmart merchants as a category expert.
  • Customer Strategy: Sales Performance Targets, Meeting Sales Goals, Segmentation / Resource Allocation
  • Develops and delivers succinct, concise, and compelling presentations to Walmart that clearly communicates opportunities and issues and offers key findings and implications (the "so what") across the 4Ps.
  • Significant experience translating data into insights
  • Ability to synthesize insights into a concise, visual story
  • Ability to apply insights to business questions to provide recommendations and influence strategy
  • Leverage Reckitt's global and local market strategy, trends, insights, and market drivers to bring innovative solutions and growth opportunities to Walmart.
  • Employ critical thinking and problem-solving skills to recognize and anticipate issues and opportunities by elevating analyses beyond reporting and translate insight into retail action.
  • Experience applying analytical skills and a problem-solving mindset to answer ambiguous business questions
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, comfortable with prioritizing multiple deliverables, and overlapping deadlines
  • Solid understanding of which data source to leverage to answer the question (POS, Syndicated, Panel, Industry Insights, survey/primary research, etc.)
The experience we're looking for
  • Bachelor's Degree required, MBA preferred
  • Equivalent degree with 7+ years related work experience in consumer goods, retail, or syndicated data with a focus on category management, sales, business analytics and/or shopper insights
  • Category management success within an Omni channel environment desirable
  • Advanced Skills in Microsoft Excel, Power BI and PowerPoint and a solid, working knowledge of JDA Space Planning.
  • Extensive knowledge and advanced skills with business driving technology solutions (i.e. Circana/IRI, Numerator, Nielsen, Spectra, Shopper sights, Walmart Luminate) and internal/external industry insights and trends
  • Proven ability to develop strong long-term client/customer relationships
  • Strong planning/organizing skills; the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to create a narrative using quantitative and qualitative data driving face to face dialogue and acceptance of initiatives with the Walmart buying team
  • 20% travel required

US salary ranges

USD $130,000.00 - $196,000.00

US pay transparency

The base salary range for this role will vary based on experience in job and industry, training and education, skills relevant to the position, and other factors permitted by law. In addition to the base salary, the position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, which is subject to change each year.
