The Complex Settlements Sr Analyst will be responsible for the settlement of accounts assigned to Complex Settlements. The position will be responsible for analyzing and allocating charges based on several parameters. The position will work closely with other Clean Energy teams to ensure proper and timely payables, and accounting. In addition, position will play a key role in existing and future digitalization and automation projects. This position will have a strong understanding of AES Clean Energy's assets and products and be a capable communicator and team player. This position will report to the Manager of Market Settlements.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the accurate and timely settlement statements of key accounts.

  • Responsible for data accuracy and completeness related to assigned accounts.

  • Responsible for ensuring accurate and timely accounting and settlements of accounts.

  • Responsible for testing and implementation of market protocol/tariff changes into existing process flows and systems.

  • Works to integrate new agreements that may not have existing processes.

  • Work to automate/improve processes for scalability and efficiency utilizing available tools and resources.

  • Work to ensure all existing and future processes meet control and compliance requirements and assist with audit data request.

  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Coordinate AES CE setup in external payment systems.

  • Coordinate counterparty setup throughout internal systems.

  • Create/maintain process documentation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, MIS, and other areas may be considered.
  • Complex power settlements experience 3+ years.
  • Thorough understanding of RTO/ISO charge types, calculations, rules, procedures, and data flows.
  • Experience working with Energy trading, settlements, scheduling, operations, back office.
  • Experience with ETRM and Bid-to-Bill systems Adapt2/Allegro helpful.
  • Understanding of end-to-end energy market/process
  • Ability to translate contract terms into a settlement process.
  • Thorough understanding of energy commodity transactions.
  • Office Products experience with intermediate/advanced EXCEL skills.
