Basic Purpose
The Associate of Sales Engineering will be the primary technical and product resource and is a key player in the success of the sales team. This person will be responsible for understanding the prospects' current payment processing environments and any issues or challenges they are facing to develop a solution based on EVO's products and technologies. This person will also be responsible for understanding current technology in use by B2B clients, such as ERP and accounting systems, while maintaining an in-depth understanding of key payment
technologies such as encryption, tokenization, EMV, etc. A successful candidate will have the ability to articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users while establishing and maintaining strong relationships throughout the sales cycle.


Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred

  • 5+ years of experience in a technical sales, technical client services, or product management role

  • 5+ years of customer service experience preferred

  • 5+ years of experience in a level 2, senior, or team lead position

  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and other Windows based programs

  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and ability to adapt in a fast-paced work environment

  • Must be willing to travel during onboarding for training in first 90 days of hire

  • Experience conducting technical discussions in a sales environment

  • In-depth knowledge of electronic payments required

Essential Functions

  • Participate in sales calls.

  • Engage in technical and product discussions with technical resources from prospects to understand current

  • processing environment and improvement opportunities.

  • Design viable solutions to leverage existing EVO products and technologies based on the prospect's feedback.

  • Present solutions to prospects as part of the sales process.

  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of EVO's products and technology and stay up-to-date with changes in the payments

  • market.

  • Research and document information in regards to general industry and/or 3 rd party products or solutions for sales

  • teams, clients, and prospects.

  • Assist in training, testing, and providing feedback to the development and product teams.

  • Assist in the development and delivery of product demonstrations.

  • Manage the implementation of key prospects via the EVO/SNAP platform.

  • Lead efforts related to platform conversions for key clients.

  • Manage B2B partnerships with 3 rd party developers of custom solutions, including Evolve.

  • Act as first point of contact for all RFP (Request For Proposal) requests for B2B merchants/prospects.

  • Compile training and/or procedural documents for new hires/existing employees.

  • Train new employees and manage on-going training.

  • Assist with large client retention as needed.

  • Act as the point of contact for the technical support team.

Working Conditions

  • Must be able to speak audibly and intelligibly on the telephone and in person

  • Must be able to manipulate (manual dexterity) a telephone headset, calculator, and computer keyboard,

  • paperwork, etc.

  • Must be able to see to read related documentation

  • Must be able to establish and maintain productive, positive and cooperative relationships with ISOs, co-workers,

  • and vendors

  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time

  • Must be able to work holidays and weekends as necessary based on business needs
