TCI, LLC Industrial/Process Engineering Internship Position Description
This position is for a summer and fall 2021 internship. This position will work full time during the summer and work 15-30 hours per week during the fall semester at our location in Germantown, WI. Those applying should be willing to commit to both sections of the internship.
Job Description This position is for an Engineering intern to aid the Manufacturing/Test Engineering team. As a member of the team you will work hands-on to support manufacturing with documentation of processes, process improvement, product improvement, and cost reductions. Additional Desired Competencies
Knowledge of design tools like AutoCAD (2D) and Inventor (3D).
Knowledge of assembly level hand tools, hands on experience assembling products.
Knowledge of electrical manufacturing processes to include winding, assembly, torquing, welding, and crimping.
Basic understanding of PLCs.
Job Responsibilities Job responsibilities will be partially driven by qualifications and area of interest expressed by student but typical tasks will include:
Provide Manufacturing Support
Hands on work in Manufacturing environment consisting of Winding, Welding, and Assembly of TCI products to become familiar with processes.
Make Recommendations for and Implementation of Process Improvements
Write Process Documentation
Identification and Implementation of a system to identify and catalog manufacturing and testing tools, jigs, and fixtures.
Perform Manufacturing Process Time Study.
Team member for the Set-up and Prove out new Manufacturing cells.
Assist other team members as assigned.
Basic Qualifications for Consideration
Previous work in a manufacturing environment
Current enrollment at an accredited college or university engineering program (UW-Milwaukee, UW-Madison or equivalent). Prefer a Junior or Senior pursuing a degree in Industrial, Process, or Manufacturing Engineering and a minimum GPA of 3.0.
OR
Minimum of 5 years work experience in a related role and in the final 2 semesters of a 2 year Associate degree with a major of Manufacturing Engineering Technology, or Process Engineering, or equivalent. A minimum GPA of 3.0
